International Institute of Minnesota: this nonprofit has been welcoming immigrants & refugees for nearly a century. With an inspiring history of serving the needs of ever-changing cultures & populations, in 2018 alone the Institute assisted 3,721 New Americans from 104 countries. During these times their mission feels more critical than ever, plus their centennial happens later this year, so how appropriate to honor them with a contribution to help keep our state a welcoming place!

The winter issue of the 928 News was delivered to members' homes by the hard-working USPS right before the holidays. There are also a few copies in the store for anybody, while they last. OR you can read on for an outline of this quarter's issue + find the whole publication as a pdf.

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity • One in four Minnesotans are housing cost-burdened, but that leaves three in four who can help – including you? Rounding up is a small way to say that you advocate for affordable housing. TC Habitat builds local quality of life, health & economic prosperity because families with homes are the foundation of a successful community.

Our December roundup is for the annual Seal Hi-Rise Winter Community Meal. SAPCC, Lydia Place, and the co-op pool resources to host a lunch for the low-income residents of the Seal tower at Raymond & Territorial. New this year: a special effort to reach out to Somali tenants by including foods from Afro Deli & Grill. Your donation will be shared with our community partners for this and future endeavors to help with the food-access challenges faced by our SAP neighbors. Thank you! Mahadsanid!
